“Reflective Endurance Coaching has taken my Triathlon and Endurance to the next level.

I have seen fantastic progress in all areas of my training which has been so satisfying to see and all in a relatively short period of time.

This was my first coach experience; I was not sure what to expect and happy to admit more than a little stubborn, thinking I could do everything on my own. It didn’t take long to start trusting the process and training and to start reaping the rewards.

David has been fantastic, listened to my initial feedback and what I wanted to gain out of partnership, no surprises there; fast and consistent but also to enjoy the experience and stay injury free.

Training has been specifically tailored to me and my needs, areas we needed to focus on were quickly identified during testing and my training adapted as required. Everything was well explained, it was clear as to why we were doing specific elements in training which is important to me.

David has struck just the right balance in terms of knowing when to push me and when to rein things in. I had been having a couple of issues with a calf and my back for several years but have now been injury free for several months since working with David.

My plan has a great balance of hands off and hands on sessions and everything is so clear in Training Peaks which links to my smart watch. Having the face-to-face meetings to review and analyse my data has been so insightful.

It has been invaluable to have the hands-on swim sessions, my swim times have reduced significantly as a direct result. I wish I had only teamed up with David sooner and not tried to self-evaluate on Youtube!

I have recommended David as a coach to several people now and those who have completed a free trial session have gone on to be coached by him and we all have gained so much from the experience.  

I am in my 70’s and a keen swimmer, mainly distance swimming. I swim in a pool most days and cover at least 1.5K per day comfortably in around 35 minutes. I am an all seasons skins swimmer and do regular 5K outdoor swims in a local lake in warm weather though in winter this can be no more than a dip.

I saw David coaching a swimmer I knew in my local pool at Bingham earlier this year and joined in these weekly one hour personal swim coaching sessions. I wanted to improve the efficiency of my front crawl with the aim of maybe improving my times but mainly I wanted advice on adjusting my swimming technique to reduce the effort involved and avoid injury. I had received no coaching on my stroke apart from self help stuff based on YouTube videos.

David’s approach with me has been to focus on streamlining and rhythm. His approach is very positive, and he progressively introduced me to a range of drills to help with my technique. His feedback over a period of a few months has  transformed my stroke.  My achievement this year was a 6K sea swim between Malta and Gozo in October with my eldest daughter and other adventure swimmers from around the world.  So, thank you David. I have found the coaching challenging  and enjoyable and will continue to recommend you to others who I think might benefit.
